Wow. Reading this actually made me tear up. It’s nice to be reminded that people can be nice to each other. If only everyone could figure out how to do it on a regular basis…
It’s truly sad that it takes events of this magnitude to bring out the humanity in some people. I’m sure it has always been this way throughout time but sure seems like more and more people don’t give a care in the world until someone drops a bomb on their front porch. Then they wake up.
Give it a few weeks and the niceness will wear off again. Sad, but it always does.

Perhaps the reason why we find acts of kindness like this so touching is less because of the act itself than because we know the generosity won’t last for long…
